Music, Faith & Generosity
Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina and the Winston-Salem Symphony are partnering with composer and conductor Michael Dodds to present an ecumenical service of worship hosted by cathedral-scale churches on consecutive evenings in Fall 2027 in Winston-Salem, High Point, and Greensboro.
Anchoring the event will be a symphony for festival chorus and symphony orchestra, inspired by Psalm 100 and newly composed by Michael Dodds.
The goal of Symphony for Hope is to strengthen community by drawing people from diverse communities and walks of life into an uplifting, communal experience of hope, joy, and generosity — and to raise funds to increase food security and create pathways that build a stronger Northwest North Carolina.

The program weaves together diverse musical styles including gospel, Jewish cantillation, and Latin American orchestral traditions; scripture and spoken word in Spanish, Hebrew, and Cherokee; and live testimonials about the impact of Second Harvest Food Bank.
